Hailing from Happy, Texas (the Town Without a Frown), Vicki Todd is a largely self-taught artist. Her fascination with art began in her Grandmother’s china shop and painting classes taught in her home attic. Vicki’s Grandmother encouraged her to sit in during the classes and paint china pieces along with the adult students. However, art became a part-time hobby pushed to life’s back burner. Vicki ended up living a double life. She earned a doctorate degree and taught public relations for 17 years at the university level. However, her dirty little secret was that really she was an artist at heart. So, she put her octogenarian mother into shock by resigning from her tenured professor position to follow her bliss of art.

After teaching in Connecticut and hosting a show called Unstuck JOY! The Art of Living on Purpose on Transformation Talk Radio, Vicki now resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is focusing on her artwork full time. She began sculpting clay in 2018, and her female nude figures have been featured in juried group and solo shows in New Mexico and beyond.

Vicki is also a playwright. In 2022 she performed a 1-woman show she authored called Shine Happy Shine!, which incorporates her vivid body print artworks and expressive fairytale mask sculptures. She recently wrote a second play, Does This Make Me Delusional?, which she hopes will hit the stage in the near future. Vicki currently co-hosts a new podcast with Dr. Pat on The Transformation Network called Shine Delusion Shine! The Radical Art of Dreaming Beyond Boundaries.

  • I was surprised and delighted by Vicki's Paint Your True Selfie class! I didn't know what to expect, but hoped to release some inhibitions with art. I loved it - all of it! Vicki is fun, positive, encouraging, engaged and a pleasure to work with. She made me believe I could do this, and I did!
    Sandi I.

  • Thank you for encouraging and nudging me to explore my creative self. I literally lost track of time while drawing, coloring, cutting, gluing and painting with both watercolor and acrylics. I also enjoyed exploring the symbolism of our creations. I have not taken an art class in years, and was shy and apprehensive, but I ended up having a lovely time!

  • Loved the Paint Your True Selfie class - not scary at all (says the "non-painter person")!!
