Business Game Changers Radio with Sarah Westall: The Miracle of Adult Human Stem Cells - Is the FDA Blocking Safe and Effective Treatments for Suffering Americans? The FDA has been scrutinized for blocking promising treatments and research for many chronic diseases and conditions. It has also been accused of being significantly behind the rest of the developed world at allowing new treatments into the U.S. market. On the other hand, they claim that their work is to protect the American people and any delays are to protect people. But who to believe? The truth is more complicated then it appears and an easy answer does not exist. The FDA does keep bad treatments and unscrupulous doctors from harming the public, but they also fast track drugs for deep-pocketed pharmaceutical companies while stalling less financed companies who seem to have safe and more promising treatments for many diseases.

My guest on this episode of Business Game Changers is Matt Feshbach, the CEO of Okyanos, a clinic and research facility located in the Bahamas working on therapies utilizing adult stem cells. Their work has been yielding amazing results from accelerated tissue repair, stimulated tissue regeneration, decreased inflammation, prevention of further cell death, to the creation of new blood vessels. They are considerably improving the lives of people with conditions such as heart disease, autoimmune diseases such as MS and diabetes and are also helping people with neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and even strokes. They continue to have amazing success without safety issues, but the FDA has not approved their treatments in the United States, even though these treatments have been approved internationally in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and throughout Europe and have been shown to have an excellent safety profile.

This episode we talk with Matt Feshbach about adult stem cells, how they work, and what they are capable of doing. We also discuss the FDA, his company, and the challenges they face in bringing this technology and treatments to the many people in the United States who could benefit immensely from their therapies.

From Okyanos website on what Adult Stem Cells are and what they do:

The adult stem cells stored in your body fat could be likened to small “physicians” who diagnose and correct individual areas of the body in need of special attention. Because these cells have the capacity to detect changes in the body, which are causing pain or dysfunction, they respond and communicate with the body’s needs to provide the correct tools needed for healing. These adult stem cells are commonly referred to as “repair cells” for their ability to heal injured organs or body parts.
