Jerry Caruso

Lynn, MA resident Jerry Caruso began to be funny at the age of 12 impersonating celebrities at the St.Patrick’s Elementary School schoolyard. At St.Mary’s high school, during his junior and senior years Caruso would emcee all sports pep rallies, entertain students on the school grounds and was the feature act at the Senior Class Banquet. At the age of 24, Jerry placed 3rd in the WVBF “Class Clown” contest out of 100 entrants. After this accomplishment Jerry dove into the world of comedy for a short while by performing at open mic nights at the infamous comedy club-Ding-Ho in Cambridge. Finally, at 38, Jerry decided to enter the world of comedy by performing at Nick’s Comedy Stop in Boston on a dare from his co-workers at Digital Equipment Corporation. His successful debut at Nick’s put him back on the road to comedy for good. Since 1993 Jerry has performed for many Boston comedy clubs throughout New England and clubs in New York. His unique mix of celebrity impressions, song parodies, and standup comedy has brought laughter to audiences at many different venues. In 1994, he co-founded “Comics for a Cure” with Toney Markus. From there, Jerry put his God-given talents to good use by organizing and performing at comedy shows for non-profit organizations and worthy causes. In 1999, Caruso started teaching comedy at community colleges, acting for Murder Mystery USA in 2001, hosted the “Jerry Caruso Comedy Hour” on AOTV (2000-2019) and since 1999 is frequent on radio at WPKZ-Fitchburg, WLPZ-Leominster WVAO-Athol/Orange and now on Red Tide radio-RI. However, what he really enjoys most is sharing the benefits of laughter through his motivational speaking to support groups, hospitals, college majors and civic organizations on “Laughter is the Best Medicine” (2003-present). One his favorite places to bring laughter is at the Hope Lodge-Boston-where he brings laughter to cancer patients and caregivers since 2015. In addition, Caruso emphasizes bringing comedy to numerous veterans’ groups throughout MA and New England. Jerry-using what God has given to him-now brings clean comedy to churches. So, if you want to laugh out loud then come see Jerry perform “live” on stage. Hear him talk about being Italian, thoughts on aging, rock n’ roll bands from the 70’s and hearing impressions of celebrities along with some clever song parodies. You will have more than just a good time. His high energy may scare you but don’t worry he’s on meds. He thanks God for all he can do for others especially those in need.
